What is CNEL STATS

CNEL STATS is an online tool for the guided navigation on a wide range of data and statistical information from , organised on a territorial scale. To date, the reference area for information stored in the CNEL STATS are the provinces, the regions and the main Italian geographical areas.

The access mode by territory, allows users to focus their search for data and indicators towards a specific territory of interest and go progressively into greater territorial detail.

In order to facilitate access to targeted information, the database is divided into thematic areas, which are then subdivided into a second level of topics. Access by thematic area, also allows users to proceed by going gradually into more detailed data, in terms of logical relevance to the phenomena under examination, to reach, eventually, the single aggregate or indicator. In order to know the latest updates (not necessarily restricted to a territorial dimension) concerning clusters of interest, the latest press releases issued by the statistical Sources are available.

Both the territorial and the thematic approaches (as well as a "cross" between the two modes), allow users to reach a presentation of the data according to the logic of vertical comparison between the territorial levels selected and the relative aggregations to which they belong (e.g. with reference to a province: its region, its macro area, and Italy), allowing an immediate assessment of the relative positioning of the observed area.

The following features are available for all the information presented : by selecting the "Information" icon Informations , users can provide definitions, as well as relevant notes and remarks; by selecting the "Magnifying glass" icon Details , users can view any available details (in other words, the data segmentation), or draw graphics (graphic icon Graphic). By selecting the text of the chosen indicator users will obtain a corresponding table including all the selected territorial aggregations (e.g. all the regions).

It is then possible to modify the selection of the parameters at any point:

  • temporal (selection of time series)
  • geographical (change of area)
  • thematic (change of thematic area)
  • measurement (change from absolute values to percentages or ranks)

My CNELSTATS is a tool that allows users to create customized tables by using more than 2.000.000 data and indicators on CNELSTATS. In this section users can consult the available data per year.

For those who would like advice and suggestions on the use of data and indicators to analyse local situations and dynamics, we have provided a specific section containing several paths of guided navigation. A final section shows you useful documents on methodological instructions, classifications and disclaimers, as well as links to sites of specific interest.
