The Commission of experts for the social safety nets reform has taken office at CNEL. On this occasion, President Treu declared that “the reform of the social safety nets system can no longer be postponed. The path to follow is that of the universality and unification of procedures. The numerous derogations made during the health emergency have revealed the limits of rules, that are inadequate to manage the post-Covid phase today". He therefore concluded that "it's necessary to simplify confused procedures to make payroll subsidies more flexible and easily accessible. It's important to appreciate the Commission for the reform of social safety nets set up by Minister Nunzia Catalfo, which represents an important step forward; but the necessary consultation between the most representative social partners, which has its natural and constitutional seat at CNEL is equally significant".
