VISIT TO THE CNEL OF THE SOCIAL AFFAIRS DELEGATION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION
Workers and representative organizations must be involved in the legislative and regulatory processes that concern them, through effective forms of participation, consultation and social dialogue.
This is the indication that emerged from the meeting that took place in Rome, at the headquarters of the National Council of Economy and Labour, between a delegation from the European Commission (Directorate General for Social Affairs), led by Dr. Marco Cantalupi, and one from the CNEL formed by the directors Claudio Lucifora and Michele Faioli and by the manager Larissa Venturi. At the centre of the meeting were the issues of representativeness, the minimum wage and the institutional activities of the CNEL, relating to the National Contract Archive as well as the unique NCLA code. There was also talk of the activity of the Blockchain Observatory set up at the CNEL.
During the meeting, the strengths and weaknesses of the parliamentary proposals on representativeness and legal minimum wages were analysed. "CNEL will promote in all locations the need to precede any regulation affecting workers' rights and the functions of the representative organizations with effective forms of involvement of the representative organizations themselves".
