WORK OF THE FIRST ASSEMBLY OF THE 11^ TERM

The first assembly of the 11th term of the National Council for Economics and Labour (CNEL) was held today, with all the councillors present. The morning session saw the election of the two Vice-Presidents Floriano BOTTA of Confindustria and Claudio RISSO of CISL (Confederazione Italiana Sindacati Lavoratori – Italian Confederation of Trades Unions), and the Assembly Secretary Annalisa GUIDOTTI of Confapi.


The assembly also delegated the Presidency Office to appoint the Presidency Council, which was constituted as follows:

In the afternoon session, the Regulatory Commission was constituted as follows:

Following this, the President informed the Assembly about the assignment received from the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, on the Working Poor and the Minimum Wage. The Assembly then unanimously ratified the relevant Memorandum, as requested by the 11th Commission of the Italian Chamber of Deputies on “Public and Private Labour”. Amendments to the CNEL Rules of Organisation were also approved.

Subsequently, the Presidency Council met and gave a positive opinion on the establishment of the new Information and Work Commission, which was composed as follows:

In turn, the Information and Work Commission then met and finalised the timetable for the Working Poor and Minimum Wage inquiry.

The Assembly will meet again on 4 and 12 October 2023 to complete the set-up of the Commissions and finalise the Working Poor and Minimum Wage inquiry.
