The President of the National Council of Economics and Labor, Renato Brunetta, and the Vice President of the Chinese Economic and Social Council, Shu Qiming, discussed today in Rome possible topics of collaboration between the two Councils, within the framework of the activities of AICESIS (International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions). In particular, CNEL and the Chinese Economic and Social Council agreed on the need to increase exchanges immediately and to focus joint activities on the topics of research in economic and social matters and training.

"Strengthening the world economy requires the simultaneous promotion of social, economic and environmental sustainability at a global level. In this regard, the role of proposal and conceptual development of the National Economic and Social Councils is crucial. We are aware that we are living in times that are not optimal for international cooperation, which must be strengthened: today's meeting offers us precious opportunities for collaboration with one of the major think-tanks of China", underlined the President of CNEL Renato Brunetta.

Vice President Shu Qiming said that  Chinese Economic and Social Council and CNEL have many points in common: "they are consultative bodies of the Government, and have the power to intervene in depth within the scope of their competences. Our hope is to strengthen bilateral ties".
