Renato Brunetta was appointed President with the Presidential Decree of 21 April 2023, published in the Gazzetta Ufficiale no. 104 of 5 May. The installation ceremony took place during the Assembly chaired by his predecessor Tiziano Treu, which was held on 27 April 2023.
The Presidential Decrees of 5 May, 25 May and 8 September 2023 appointed the 10 National Council for Economics and Labour (CNEL) experts, 6 members as representatives of social promotion associations and voluntary organisations, and 48 representatives of production categories. The Presidential Decrees were published in the Gazzetta Ufficiale no. 218 of 18 September 2023. Subsequently, by two separate Presidential Decrees of 20 November 2023 - GU no. 299 of 23 December 2023 - the replacement of two councillors took place.
The 11th term formally started with the Assembly on 22 September 2023. At the same time, the two Vice-Presidents Floriano Botta and Claudio Risso were elected, as well as the Assembly Secretary Annalisa Guidotti.
